In 2020, two childhood friends from Moldova who had spent years driving for other companies decided to do it their own way. They bought two trucks, dispatched themselves, did their own accounting and recruiting, and called it MVM Logistics.
Five years later, the fleet runs more than 65 trucks out of the Pacific Northwest, covering refrigerated and dry van freight across all 48 contiguous states, with daily outbound lanes from Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
“At the beginning we were doing almost everything: driving a truck, dispatch, the accounting, the recruiting. We had a plan though, and as we started growing, we chose the right people and partners.”
The company still runs on the same rules it started with: fair miles and honest communication for drivers, no surprises for brokers, and equipment the founders would drive themselves. Many of MVM's company drivers have since become owner-operators with multi-truck operations of their own.
The next five years are about deepening, not just adding: more core lanes with return freight, more owner-operators developed from within, and a back office that scales as cleanly as the fleet.
